    What is Osteopathy ?

Founded 150 years ago by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, Osteopathy teaches us that body is a self-healing unit with a close correlation between structure and function and in order to recover functionality, one should fix structure. Osteopathic techniques enable body to recover itself in a natural way. It has been shown through research that osteopathy is the best option for chronic back pain. It will help you to reach your maximal range of motion, while enjoying a pain-free life.

The art in osteohealth therapy is in the selection of the right technique for the right problem, in the right patient .

So at AOHCC , we always start out the same way with every patient, we take a detailed history and do a comprehensive orthopedic, neurological and functional assessment so that we get to know the problem and the patient. This makes selecting the right treatments much easier.

There is little evidence to suggest that Drug treatments are effective in treating herniated disc.So Osteopathy is your best choice in alleviating the pain and muscle spasm and reducing the inflammation and roots compression.

Osteopathic techniques are very impactful towards the management of subacute and chronic Low back pain . From the viewpoint of osteopathic management and also prevention , the most important patients are SALBP ones where it is possible to try avoiding chronicity which is the worst end of the story and most people think that it is impossible to exit from CLBP .

    What is physical therapy ?

Physical Therapy is a professional health discipline directed towards the prevention or alleviation of movement dysfunction, and towards the enhancement of physical capacity. The ultimate goal of Physical Therapy is to assist the client/patient to achieve the highest possible level of independent function. Exercise, therapeutic modalities and consultative strategies are used to maximize function. In addition, physical therapists educate their patients and the community about the prevention of disabilities and promotion of health.

    What is Acupuncture ?

Acupuncture stimulates the balance and flow of Qi energy that in Traditional Chinese Medicine is considered essential to health. When the body is healthy, Qi (pronounced chee), flows smoothly through the meridians that make up a conceptual network of pathways throughout the entire body. When the balance or flow of Qi is deficient or obstructed it may be diseased or susceptible to illness. Acupuncture treats both the symptoms and the root causes of the patient’s illness.
